Arrupe College of Loyola University Chicago Guaranteed Admission Agreement

Marquette University and Arrupe College of Loyola University Chicago have established a formal partnership to better serve students and facilitate the transfer process. 

Guaranteed admission is available for students who are on track to complete an Associate of Arts (AA) at Arrupe during the application process. Students must maintain a cumulative grade point average of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale as a full-time student on all transferable coursework taken at Arrupe with the majority of grades earned with a C or higher. Students asked to leave Arrupe College of Loyola University Chicago for academic or non-academic reasons will not be considered for guaranteed admission. Students must enroll in their Marquette University degree program within the year following completion of the Associate Degree to benefit from the Guaranteed Admission opportunity.

Marquette's College of Business Administration, Opus College of Engineering, and College of Health Sciences have a higher cumulative GPA requirement of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, with a grade of B or higher required for the following prerequisite courses:

  • College of Business Administration -- three of the five following courses must be completed:
    • ACECO 202 (MU equivalent ECON 1103)
    • ACECO 201 (MU equivalent ECON 1104)
    • ACACT 201 (MU equivalent ACCO 1030)
    • ACACT 202 (MU equivalent ACCO 1031)
    • ACMAT 161 (MU equivalent MATH 1450)

  • Opus College of Engineering -- the following courses must be completed. Please note: calculus-based physics is a preferred prerequisite, however, we will accept an equivalent course to Marquette's CHEM 1001 in its place:
    • ACMAT 161 (MU equivalent MATH 1450)
    • ACCHM 101 + ACCHM 111 (MU equivalent CHEM 1001)

  • College of Health Sciences -- the following courses must be completed:
    • ACBIO 101 (MU equivalent BIOL 1001)
    • ACCHM 101 + ACCHM 111 (MU equivalent CHEM 1001)



Students may also qualify for Marquette University scholarships, including the Arrupe College Transfer Full-Tuition Scholarship. This is a full-tuition, merit-based scholarship awarded to two students each year for up to four semesters of undergraduate studies. This scholarship is not additive and cannot be stacked with other awards. The Arrupe College Transfer Scholarship is awarded for the fall semester only.  


Students indicate their intention to participate in the Guaranteed Admission Agreement by filling out the form below prior to, or at the same time as, the Marquette University admission application. The Marquette University admission application must be received no later than December 1 for Spring semester enrollment and July 1 for Fall semester enrollment. All applicants must submit the required materials for admission.
